Rep. Johnson called the meeting to order at 7:31 a.m.

H.C.R. 7    Resolution Approving Landfill for Construction and Demolition Debris (T. Hatch)

MOTION:    Rep. Hatch moved to amend the resolution as follows:

Page 1, Line 8:    After “ located” delete “ in” and insert “ near

The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Anderson, Rep. Buttars, and Rep. Cox absent for the vote.

Rep. Hatch introduced H.C.R. 7 and explained it to the committee.

Spoke to the bill:    Doug Foxley, attorney
            Carl Wadsworth, Department of Environmental Quality



MOTION:    Rep. Styler moved to pass the resolution out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cox absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Johnson moved to place the resolution on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cox absent for the vote.


H.B. 293    Solid and Hazardous Waste (D. Ure)

MOTION:    Rep. Johnson moved to amend the bill as follows:

Page 3, Line 73:    Delete “June 31" and insert “June 30"

The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cox absent for the vote.

Rep. Steve Mascaro introduced H.B. 293 and explained it to the committee.

Rep. Mascaro declared a potential conflict of interest.

Spoke to the bill:    Doug Foxley, attorney

Spoke against the bill:    Melvin Radmall, Bear Construction

Carl Wadsworth of the Department of Environmental Quality answered questions of committee members and clarified rules regarding landfills.

MOTION:    Rep. Peterson moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously
