Vice Chair Aagard called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. McCartney moved to approve the minutes of February 25, 2002. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Allen, Rep. Bennion, and Rep. Snow, and Rep. Swallow absent for the vote.


H.B. 308    Renewable Energy Amendments (J. Gowans)

MOTION:    Rep. Goodfellow moved to return H.B. 308 to the Rules Committee with a recommendation that it be referred to interim study. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Allen, Rep. Bennion, Rep. Snow, and Rep. Swallow absent for the vote.


S.B. 152    Electric Energy Efficiency and Conservation Tariff (L. Blackham)

Sen. Blackham introduced S.B. 152 and explained it to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. McCartney moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Allen and Rep. Bennion absent for the vote.


S.B. 153    Taxes or Charges on Telecommunications Service (C. Bramble)

Sen. Bramble introduced S.B. 153 and explained it to the committee.

Spoke in favor of the bill:    Bruce Johnson, State Tax Commission

MOTION:    Rep. Swallow moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Allen and Rep. Bennion absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Swallow moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Allen and Rep. Bennion absent for the vote.

Representative Swallow thanked committee members and staff for their efforts during the session.

Sen. Hickman introduced S.B.104S1 and explained it to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Urquhart moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Swallow absent for the vote.
                                

MOTION:    Rep. Bennion moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Swallow absent for the vote.
