At the request of Chair Spencer, Sen. Hellewell acted as chair and called the meeting to order at 8:12 a.m.
MOTION: Sen. Blackham moved to approve the minutes of 1-22-02. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Evans absent at the time of voting.
1. S. B. 134 Wildlife Resources and Wildlife Board Amendments (D. Gladwell)
Sen. David L. Gladwell presented the Bill. Richard Diamond, Vice-Chairman, Utah Wildlife Board, spoke in favor of the bill. Darin Bird, Assistant Director, Division of Natural Resources voiced concerns and Clair Geddes, Utah Legislative Watch spoke in opposition.
MOTION: After committee discussion, Sen. Evans moved to hold S.B.134 for consideration at the next committee meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
2. H.B. 65 State Park Access Highways Amendments (D. Bowman)
Rep. DeMar Bud Bowman represented the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Blackham moved to pass H.B. 65 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
3. H.B. 7 Net Metering of Electricity (G. Snow)
Rep. Gordon E. Snow presented the bill
MOTION: Sen. Dmitrich moved to pass H.B. 7 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
4. H. B. 15 Repeal of Environmental Quality Coordinating Committee (Ron Bigelow)
Rep. Ron Bigelow presented the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Evans moved to pass H.B. 15 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
Rep. Bigelow requested H. B. 15 be sent to the Consent Calendar.
MOTION: Sen. Evan moved to place H.B. 15 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Evans moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
Sen. Hellewell adjourned the meeting at 8:29 p.m.
