Meeting was called to order by Chair Spencer at 4:20 p.m.

1. H. B. 125 Endangerment of Child or Elder Person with Controlled Substance or Precursor (T. Beck)

Rep. Gordon E. Snow presented the bill.

MOTION:
Sen. Hellewell moved to pass H. B. 125,Endangerment of Child or Elder Person with Controlled Substance or Precursor,” out with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

2. H. B. 133 Natural Gas Technician Certification (G. Snow)

Rep. Gordon E. Snow presented the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Dmitrich moved to amend H. B. 133 as follows:

The motion passed unanimously.

Rulon Gill, Questar; Ken Gardner, AFLCIO; John Hill, Rocky Mountain Gas Association; David Allen, Barlow Comfort Systems; and Dean Dyatt, Davis Applied Technical Center; all spoke in support of the bill. Mr. Hill distributed a handout to committee members.

MOTION: Sen. Dmitrich moved to pass H.B. 133, “Natural Gas Technician Certification,” out as amended with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

3. Approval of Minutes

MOTION:
Sen. Hellewell moved to approve the minutes of 2-25-02. The motion passed unanimously.

4. H. B. 184S3 Impact Fees Act Amendments (G. Way)

Sen. Hellewell presented the bill.

Tasman Biesinger, Utah Home Builders Association, spoke in support of the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Hellewell moved to pass H.B. 184S3, “Impact Fees Act Amendments,” out with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION: Sen. Evans moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.

Chair Spencer adjourned the meeting at 4:37 p.m.
