Sen. Hickman, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m.

1.     S. B. 101 Criminal Background Checks for Licensed Providers of Human Services (Sen. L. Blackham)

    Sen. Blackham presented his bill to the committee.

     MOTION: Sen. Spencer moved to adopt 1st Sub. S.B. 101.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis absent for the vote.

     MOTION: Senator Spencer moved to amend the bill as follows:

    1 . Page 3, Line 80:    After "authority" insert "or substance abuse authority"

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Senator Spencer moved to amend the bill as follows:



    2. Page 6, Line 160:    After "misdemeanor" insert "other than a protective order violation in a domestic case"

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Senator Spencer moved to amend the bill as follows:

    3. Page 7, Line 184:     After "evidence" insert "provided by the person"

Karen Silver, Salt Lake Community Action Program, spoke regarding the bill.

     MOTION: Senator Spencer moved to pass the bill out favorably, as amended.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Senator Allen moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    The meeting adjourned at 4:25 p.m.
