    Chair Walker called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.

     MOTION: Sen. Peterson moved to approve the minutes of January 24, 2002.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

1.     H. B. 26 Technical Corrections to County Code (D. Cox)

    Sen. Cox explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Julander moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

     MOTION: Sen. Evans moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

2.     H. B. 27 Technical Corrections to Municipal Code (D. Cox)

    Sen. Cox explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Evans moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.



     MOTION: Sen. Evans moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

3.     H. B. 46 Annual Reports Given to the Legislature (M. Dillree)

    Rep. Dillree explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Peterson moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Jenkins absent for the vote.

4.     H.B. 75 Cemetery Maintenance District Amendments (E. Anderson)

    Rep. Anderson explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

5.     H. B. 32 Overseas and Military Voters Amendments (D. Bush)

    Rep. Bush explained the bill.

    Amy Naccarato, Director, State Elections Office, spoke for the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

6.     H. B. 86 Publication Notice of Constitutional Amendments (P. Arent)

    Rep. Arent explained the bill, assisted by Amy Naccarato, Director, State Elections Office.

     MOTION: Sen. Peterson moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Julander moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.


    The motion passed unanimously.

7.     S. B. 30 Funding Formula for Alcohol Related Activities of Local Governments
    (M. Waddoups)

    Sen. Waddoups explained the bill.

    Alan Kirkwood, Board of Directors, Mothers Against Drunk Driving; Marvin Dodge, and Jaynie Brown, Drivers Under the Influence Council; David Spatafore, Utah League of Cities and Towns; Anna Kaye Waddoups, citizen; Mary Phillips, President, MADD; Brent Gardner, Utah Association of Counties, and John Greiner, President, Utah Chiefs of Police Association, spoke in favor of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Julander moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

8.     S. B. 63 Attorney General Amendments (B. Wright)

    The bill was not considered.

     MOTION: Sen. Peterson moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed unanimously.
