Committee Chair Steele called the meeting to order at 8:05 a.m.

     MOTION: Sen. Waddoups moved to approve the minutes of January 28, 2001.

     The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Mayne and Sen. Hale absent for the vote.     
1.    S.B. 133 Application for Driver License Amendments (B. Wright)

    
This bill was not heard.
    
2.     H.B. 94 Special Fuel Tax Amendments (B. Ferry)

    Rep. Ferry explained the bill and distributed a handout.

    Pam Hendrickson, Tax Commission, spoke in support of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Hickman moved to pass the bill out favorably.
    
    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Eastman and Sen. Hale absent for the vote.



3.     H.B. 30 Master State Highway Amendments (J. Murray)

    Rep. Murray Explained the bill.

    Carlos Braceras, UDOT, distributed maps and answered questions.

     MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously.

4.     H.B. 40 Public Safety - Division Name Change (D. Bowman)

    Rep. Bowman explained the bill.

    Scott Behunin, Dir.,Comprehensive Emergency Management, spoke in support of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Hickman moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.

5.     H.B. 74 Safety Inspections Regarding Window Tinting (D. Bowman)

    
Rep. Bowman explained the bill assisted by Scott Duncan, Supt., Utah Highway Patrol.

     MOTION: Sen. Hickman moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Mayne and Sen. Hale absent for the vote.

6.     H.B. 87 Unmarked Vehicle Amendments (D. Bowman)

    
Rep. Bowman explained the bill assisted by Scott Duncan, Supt., Utah Highway Patrol.

     MOTION: Sen. Eastman moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hale absent for the vote.

7.     H.B. 198 Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets (K. Holdaway)

    
Sen. Waddoups explained the bill.
