SENATE RULES RESOLUTION - QUORUM IN

                 
SENATE COMMITTEE

                  This resolution modifies Senate Rules governing quorums by exempting certain members
                  of majority and minority leadership from being counted in determining a quorum in
                  certain circumstances. This act takes effect immediately.
                  This resolution affects legislative rules as follows:
                  AMENDS:
                      SR-24.11
                  Be it resolved by the Senate of the state of Utah:
                      Section 1. SR-24.11 is amended to read:
                       SR-24.11. Committee Attendance; Quorum.
                      (1) A majority of any committee or subcommittee constitutes a quorum for the
                  transaction of business.
                      (2) The President, Majority Leader, Majority Whip, Assistant Majority Whip, Senate
                  Rules Committee Chair, Senate Appropriations Committee Chair, Minority Leader, Minority
                  Whip, and Assistant Minority Whip, and the fourth member of leadership from the minority
                  party are not counted in determining a quorum for standing committees, except for meetings
                  that the legislator actually attends.
                      Section 2. Effective date.
                      This resolution takes effect upon approval by a constitutional majority vote of all
                  members of the Senate.
