Vice Chair Aagard called the meeting to order at 8:07 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Parker moved to approve the minutes of the February 4, 2003 meeting. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Harper, Rep. Jones, Rep. Morley, and Rep. Wallace absent for the vote.

H.B. 121    Leave of Absence for Disabled Employees (C. Bennion)

Explained the bill:    Rep. Bennion

Spoke for the bill:    Kelly Atkinson, Fraternal Order of Police

MOTION:    Rep. Bowman moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Harper and Rep. Jones absent for the vote.

H.B. 163    Criminal Restitution Amendments (D. Aagard)

Vice Chair Aagard relinquished the chair to Chair Bowman.

MOTION:    Rep. Aagard moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 2, Line 47:    Reinstate "if the offense resulted in"

2.    Page 2, Line 48:    Reinstate "bodily injury to a victim"

3.    Page 2, Line 48:    Bracket "and" and insert:

        "(v) wages or salary lost by the victim of the offense due to the theft of or

damage to tools or equipment items of a trade that were owned by the victim and were essential to the victim's current employment at the time of the offense ; and"

4.    Page 2, Line 49:    Bracket "(v)" and insert "(vi)"

MOTION:    Rep. Wallace moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Harper and Rep. Jones absent for the vote.

Chair Bowman relinquished the chair to Vice Chair Aagard.

MOTION:    Rep. Litvak moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Jones absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Dee moved to pass the resolution out favorably. The motion passed, with Rep. Litvak voting in opposition.
