Rep. Peterson called the meeting to order at 8:09 a.m.
MOTION: Rep. Donnelson moved to approve the minutes of the February 6, 2003 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Ure and Rep. Urquhart absent for the vote.
H.B. 148 Unlawful Taking of Game Fish (S. Clark)
Rep. Clark introduced H.B. 148 and explained it to the committee. He was assisted by Rudy Musclow, Department of Natural Resources, and Jim Carter, representing Strawberry Anglers Association.
MOTION: Rep. Gowans moved to amend the bill as follows:
1. Page 1, Line 6: After " species." insert " This act contains a coordination clause."
2. Page 3, Line 89: After "in" reinstate "Subsection", delete "Section", and after "76-3-203" insert "(2)(d)"
3. Page 6, Line 180: After line 180 insert:
" Section 2. Coordination Clause.
If this bill and H.B. 209, Sentencing for Use of Dangerous Weapon, both pass, it is the intent of the Legislature that the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel in preparing the database for publication, shall change the reference in Subsection 23-20-4 to Subsection 76-3-203(2)(d) in this bill to Subsection 76-3-203.8(3)."
