Vice Chair Barrus called the meeting to order at 3:12 p.m.
Motion: Rep. Duckworth moved that the committee adopt the minutes of January 30, 2003. The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 6-0-4, with Reps. Becker, Hardy, Hogue and Murray absent for the vote.
H.B. 228 Local Government Officials Amendments (M. Thompson)
Rep. Thompson introduced the bill.
Jerry Grover, Utah County Commission, spoke for the bill.
Motion: Rep. Hogue moved that the committee report a favorable recommendation on H.B. 228. The motion passed with a vote of 8-1-1, with Rep. Hardy voting no and Rep. Becker absent for
the vote.
S.B. 33 Fees for Sheriff (M. Dmitrich)
Rep. McCartney introduced the bill.

Motion: Rep. Bourdeaux moved that the committee report a favorable recommendation on S.B. 33. The motion passed with a vote of 9-1-0, with Rep. Hogue voting no.
S.B. 35 Redevelopment of Superfund Sites (D. C. Buttars)

Motion: Rep. Dee moved to adopt the following amendments:
1. Page 1, Lines 7-8: Delete " The act authorizes the use of tax increment funds for a superfund site without taxing entity approval."
2. Page 1, Line 14: Delete Line 14
3. Page 9, Lines 246-272: Delete Lines 246 through 272
Renumber remaining sections of the bill accordingly.
The motion passed with a vote of 9-1-0, with Rep. Bourdeaux voting no.
Motion: Rep. Hogue moved that the committee report a favorable recommendation on S.B. 35 as amended. The motion passed with a vote of 9-1-0, with Rep. Bourdeaux voting no.
