Chair Holdaway called the meeting to order at 8:04 a.m.
Motion: Rep. Hogue moved that the committee adopt the minutes of February 20, 2003. The motion passed with a vote of 7-0-3, with Reps. Becker, Dee and Duckworth absent for the vote.
H.B. 278 Municipal Annexations Across County Lines (D. G. Buxton)
Handouts were distributed.
Rep. Buxton introduced the bill.

1st Sub. S.B. 72 Amendments to Special Districts and Local Districts for Expanded Fire Protection Services (D. Thomas)

Motion: Rep. Barrus moved to adopt the following amendments:
1. Page 1, Line 6: After " annexations." delete the remainder of line 6
2. Page 1, Line 7-8: Delete lines 7 and 8
3. Page 2, Lines 39-42: Delete lines 39 through 42
The motion to amend passed with a vote of 9-0-1, with Rep. Bourdeaux absent for the vote.
Sen. Thomas introduced the bill as amended.
