Rep. Clark called the meeting to order at 3:40 p.m.

S.B. 17    Sales and Use Tax - Exemption for Semiconductor Fabricating or Processing Materials (C. Bramble)

        Sen. Bramble introduced the bill and explained it to the committee with the assistance
        of Mr. Stan Lockhart, Director of Government Affairs, Micron.


MOTION:    Rep. Seitz moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B.87    Property Tax Assessment of Low-income Housing Tax Credits and Low-income Housing Covenants (G. Snow)

        Rep. Snow introduced the bill and explained it to the committee with the assistance of Mr. William Erickson, President, Utah Housing Finance Corporation.
        Mr. Lee Gardner, Salt Lake County Assessor spoke against the bill.
        Mr. Bruce Johnson, Utah State Tax Commission, spoke to the bill.


MOTION:    Rep. Peterson moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B.200    Property Tax - Interest Rate on Deferred Taxes (L. Christensen)
        

        Rep. Christensen introduced the bill and explained it to the committee.

        Sen. Steele introduced the bill and explained it to the committee.

        Lynn Solarczyk, Utah State Tax Commission spoke to the bill.

MOTION:    Rep. Allen moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
