Chair Cox called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.

Chair Cox called for an introduction of committee members.

H.B. 14    Tourism Promotion Programs (S. Allen)

Rep. Allen introduced the bill with the assistance of Dean Reeder, Director of Utah Travel Development.

Spoke to the bill:    Neka Roundy, Tourism coordinator for Davis County
            John Kemp, Research coordinator, Utah Travel Development
            Brent Gardner, Utah Association of Counties

Spoke for the bill:    Mike Jerman, Utah Taxpayers Association

MOTION:    Rep. Shurtliff moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.


H.B. 174    Unemployment Insurance Fraud Amendments (T. McCartney)

Rep. McCartney introduced the bill.

Spoke for the bill:    Mike Wims, Assistant Attorney General, Criminal Division; State Associations of Attorneys

MOTION:    Rep. Morgan moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B. 171    Pamela Atkinson Homeless Trust Account (M. Stephens)

The bill was not heard. At the request of the sponsor the bill will be held until next week.

MOTION:    Rep. Mascaro moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.

Chair Cox adjourned the meeting at 4:15 p.m.
