Committee Chair Hellewell called the meeting to order at 8:08 a.m.

1.     1st Sub. H.B. 78 Lien Recovery Fund - Rate of Interest (G. Snow)
    
    
Rep. Snow introduced 3rd Sub. H.B. 78 .

     MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to delete in body and title, 1st Sub. H.B. 78, and adopt
     3rd Sub. H.B. 78.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Hatch and Davis absent for the vote.

    Rep. Snow explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Eastman moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Hatch and Davis absent for the vote.

2.     S.B. 198 Division of Real Estate - Definitions Amendments (J. Valentine)

    
Sen. Valentine explained the bill and proposed the following amendment:

     Page 4, Line 96:     After “affiliated with” delete “or engaged by



     MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to adopt the amendment.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis absent for the vote.

    Chris Kyler, and Paxton Guymon, Attornies for Utah Association of Realtors, spoke in support of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Walker moved to pass the bill out favorably as amended.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis absent for the vote.

3.     S.B. 126 Worker's Compensation Amendments (E. Mayne)

    Sen. Mayne explained the bill.

    Alan Hennebold, Deputy Commissioner, Utah Labor Commission, and Joyce H. Sewell, Director, Internal Affairs, Utah Labor Commission, answered questions from the committee.

    Tom Bingham, President, Utah Manufacturing Association and Jim Olsen, President, Utah Food Industry Association, spoke in support of the bill.

    Sen. Bramble declared a conflict of interest.

     MOTION: Sen Bramble moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis absent for the vote.

4.     1st Sub. H.B. 48 Utah Construction Trade Licensing Act Amendments (S. Urquhart)

    Rep. Urquhart explained the bill.

    L. Tasman Biesinger, Executive Vice President, Utah Home Builders Association, spoke in support of the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Walker moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Hatch and Davis absent for the vote.


5.     H.B. 90 Equipment Dealer Warranty Reimbursement Act (D. Peterson)

    
Rep. Peterson explained the bill.

    Paul McPherson, Greenline Equipment, Board of Directors, Far West Dealers Association, spoke in support of the bill and answered questions from the committee.

     MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to adjourn. Following committee discussion, Sen. Bramble     withdrew the motion.

     MOTION: Sen. Hatch moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed unanimously.
