Committee Chair Wright called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.
1. S.B. 32 Driver Education Courses (C. Walker)
Sen. Walker said the bill requires school districts to fund their driver education program solely through the Driver Education Tax Account and student fees.
The following spoke in support of the bill:

MOTION: Sen. Stephenson moved to modify school districts' authority to offer different drivers education programs.
SUBSTITUTE MOTION: Sen. Buttars moved to hold the bill for another meeting for consideration of amendments. The motion passed unanimously.
2. S.B. 124 Capitol Arts Placement Commission (K. Hale)
MOTION: Sen. Hale moved to adopt the substitute bill. The motion passed unanimously.
Sen. Hale said the bill brings the Capital Arts Placement Commission under the Capital Preservation Board. David Hart, Executive Director, Capitol Preservation Board assisted in the presentation.
MOTION: Sen. Buttars moved to pass 1st Sub. S.B. 124 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
3. H.B. 51 Historic Preservation in General Plans (R. Becker)
Rep. Becker said the bill allows county or municipal general plans to cover historic preservation.
MOTION: Sen. Hale moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Buttars moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
Committee Chair Wright adjourned the meeting at 9:16 a.m.
