Committee Chair Wright called the meeting to order at 3:17 p.m.
1. H.B. 74 Unauthorized Entry on School Bus Prohibited (N. Hendrickson)
Rep. Neal Hendrickson said the bill prohibits unauthorized entry of a school bus.
The following spoke in support of the bill:

MOTION: Sen. Arent moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Stephenson moved to place the bill on the consent calendar. The motion passed unanimously.
2. S.C.R. 3 Resolution Designating Legislators Back to School Week (H. Stephenson)
Sen. Stephenson said the resolution designates Legislators Back to School Week.
Ms. Susan Dayton, Utah PTA, commented on the bill.
Ms. Sarah Meier, Utah School Boards Association and Utah School Superintendents Association, spoke in support of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Hale moved to pass the resolution out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Arent moved to approve the minutes of February 6, 2006. The motion passed unanimously.
3. H.C.R. 2 Resolution Recognizing Resourceful Use of Technology in the Classroom (G. Hughes)
Rep. Greg Hughes said the resolution recognizes the resourceful use of technology in the classroom.
Ms. Sarah Meier, Utah School Boards Association and Utah School Superintendents Association, spoke in support of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Arent moved to pass the resolution out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
4. H.J.R. 14 Joint Resolution Supporting Action Plan for Public Lands and Education
(S. Urquhart)
Sen. Thomas Hatch presented the bill in place of Rep. Steve Urquhart. He said the resolution asks Congress for compensation for the federal lands in Utah.
Ms. Sarah Meier, Utah School Boards Association and Utah School Superintendents Association, spoke in support of the resolution.
MOTION: Sen. Arent moved to pass the resolution out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Hale moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
Committee Chair Wright adjourned the meeting at 3:47 p.m.
