Committee Chair Steele called the meeting to order at 8:35 a.m. and announced that S.B. 224 will not be heard today.

     MOTION: Sen. Walker moved to approve the minutes of February 13, 2003.

     The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Eastman and Knudson absent for the vote.

1.     S.B. 176 Education Support License Plate (J. Evans)

    Sen. Evans explained the bill

    Lynn Solarczyk, Utah Tax Commission, answered questions from the committee.

     MOTION: Sen. Hale moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Eastman absent for the vote.

2.     S.B. 221 Utah National Parks License Plates (T. Hatch)

    
Sen. Hatch explained the bill.





     MOTION: Sen. Hale moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Eastman absent for the vote.

3.     S.B. 224 Use of Transportation Fund (S. Jenkins)

    
Sen. Hale moved to return the bill to rules.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Eastman absent for the vote.

4.     H.J.R. 15 Resolution Supporting Efforts to Build and Deploy National Missile Defense System (M. Morley)

    
Rep. Morley explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Walker moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed with Sen. Hale voting in opposition to the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed unanimously.
