Chair Thomas called the meeting to order at 9:10 a.m.
1. H.B. 14 Tourism Promotion Programs (S. Allen)
Rep. Allen presented the bill.
Mike Jerman, Vice President, Utah Taxpayers Association, spoke in favor of the bill.
Susan Thackery, Project Coordinator, Box Elder Economic Development and Tourism, spoke against the bill.
Lynn Price, Citizen, spoke in favor of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Steele moved to pass H.B. 14 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
The motion failed with Sens. Thomas, Hatch, and Jenkins voting against the motion.
2. 1st Sub. H.B. 31 Workforce Services Overpayment Amendments (J. Alexander)
Rep. Alexander presented the bill.
Robin Arnold-Williams, Executive Director, Human Services, spoke in favor of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to pass 1st Sub. H.B. 31 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Hillyard moved to place 1st Sub. H.B. 31 on the Consent Calendar.
