WESTERN LEGENDS ROUNDUP RESOLUTION

LONG TITLE
General Description:
This concurrent resolution of the Legislature and the Governor recognizes August
24-29, 2004, as the Western Legends Roundup in Kanab, Utah.
Highlighted Provisions:
This resolution:
. recognizes August 24-29, 2004, as the Western Legends Roundup in Kanab,
Utah; and
. recognizes the state's western legends culture, the attention that the roundup
brings to the state of Utah, and the efforts of many Kanab residents and
volunteers.
Special Clauses:
None

Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah, the Governor concurring therein:
WHEREAS, the Western Legends Roundup will be holding its sixth annual celebration
August 24-29, 2004;
WHEREAS, the Western Legends Roundup will be held in Kanab, Utah, where the
"Greatest Earth on Show" can be found;
WHEREAS, each year the Western Legends Roundup offers the world an authentic
western legends culture through the presentation of working displays of western crafts, the
west's one and only Cowboy Poetry Rodeo, and cowboy musicians and storytellers, all of whom
share their talents and interpretations of the "Old West" to honor and preserve the western
culture;

WHEREAS, each year the Western Legends Roundup celebrates the filmmakers who
made films in Kanab's "Little Hollywood" and honors them with a Western Film Festival and
celebration in Kanab's movie "Walk of Fame"; and
WHEREAS, the Western Legends Roundup brings recognition to the state and also
promotes the state of Utah and our western culture and filmmaking to the world:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah, the
Governor concurring therein, recognize August 24-29, 2004, as the Western Legends Roundup in
Kanab, Utah.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature and the Governor recognize the
state's western legends culture, the attention that the roundup brings to the state of Utah, and the
many Kanab residents and volunteers who make the Western Legends Roundup possible.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the town of
Kanab and the Utah Film Commission.
