             7      General Description:
             8          This bill amends Child and Family Services provisions regarding child protection team
             9      meetings.
             10      Highlighted Provisions:
             11          This bill:
             12          .    extends the child protection team meeting deadline for certain protective
             13      supervision cases;
             14          .    addresses what a team may do at the meeting; and
             15          .    makes technical changes.

             22          62A-4a-202.8, as enacted by Chapter 326, Laws of Utah 2003

             24      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             25          Section 1. Section 62A-4a-202.8 is amended to read:
             26           62A-4a-202.8. Meeting within 24 hours.
             27          (1) If the division files a petition under [Subsection 78-3a-305 (1) or (2) but does not


             28      take the child into protective custody] Section 78-3a-305 for protective supervision ordered by
             29      the court, as defined in Section 78-3a-103 , the division shall convene a child protection team
             30      meeting [within 24 hours of the filing, excluding weekends and holidays,] to review the
             31      circumstances [regarding] of the filing of the petition and to develop or review implementation
             32      of a safety plan to protect the child from further abuse [or], neglect, or dependency.
             33          (2) If the petition meets the conditions of Subsection 78-3a-305 (2)(b)(ii), the team
             34      meeting shall be convened within 24 hours. Otherwise, the meeting shall be convened within
             35      28 days.
             36          [(2)] (3) The team shall include as many persons under Subsection 62A-4a-202.3 (6)(b)
             37      as appropriate.
             38          [(3)] (4) At its meeting the team shall review the complete child protective services and
             39      foster care history of the child and the child's parents and siblings.
