WESTERN LEGENDS ROUNDUP RESOLUTION

6 LONG TITLE
7 General Description:
8 This concurrent resolution of the Legislature and the Governor recognizes August
9 24-29, 2004, as the Western Legends Roundup in Kanab, Utah.
10 Highlighted Provisions:
11 This resolution:
12 . recognizes August 24-29, 2004, as the Western Legends Roundup in Kanab,
13 Utah; and
14 . recognizes the state's western legends culture, the attention that the roundup
15 brings to the state of Utah, and the efforts of many Kanab residents and
16 volunteers.
17 Special Clauses:

20 Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah, the Governor concurring therein:
21 WHEREAS, the Western Legends Roundup will be holding its sixth annual celebration
22 August 24-29, 2004;
23 WHEREAS, the Western Legends Roundup will be held in Kanab, Utah, where the
24 "Greatest Show on Earth" can be found;
25 WHEREAS, each year the Western Legends Roundup offers the world an authentic
26 western legends culture through the presentation of working displays of western crafts, the
27 west's one and only Cowboy Poetry Rodeo, and cowboy musicians and storytellers, all of

28 whom share their talents and interpretations of the "Old West" to honor and preserve the
29 western culture;
30 WHEREAS, each year the Western Legends Roundup celebrates the filmmakers who
31 made films in Kanab's "Little Hollywood" and honors them with a Western Film Festival and
32 celebration in Kanab's movie "Walk of Fame"; and
33 WHEREAS, the Western Legends Roundup brings recognition to the state and also
34 promotes the state of Utah and our western culture and filmmaking to the world:
35 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah, the
36 Governor concurring therein, recognize August 24-29, 2004, as the Western Legends Roundup
37 in Kanab, Utah.
38 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature and the Governor recognize the
39 state's western legends culture, the attention that the roundup brings to the state of Utah, and
40 the many Kanab residents and volunteers who make the Western Legends Roundup possible.
41 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the town of
42 Kanab and the Utah Film Commission.
