7 LONG TITLE
8 General Description:
9 This bill modifies the New Motor Vehicles Warranties Act to include motorcycles as
10 covered vehicles.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 . amends the definition of motor vehicles to include motorcycles sold in this state as
14 motor vehicles covered under the New Motor Vehicles Warranties Act.

23 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
24 Section 1. Section 13-20-2 is amended to read:
25 13-20-2. Definitions.
26 As used in this chapter:
27 (1) "Consumer" means an individual who has entered into an agreement or contract for

28 the transfer, lease, or purchase of a new motor vehicle other than for purposes of resale, or
29 sublease, during the duration of the period defined under Section 13-20-5 .
30 (2) "Manufacturer" means manufacturer, importer, distributor, or anyone who is named
31 as the warrantor on an express written warranty on a motor vehicle.
32 (3) "Motor home" means a self-propelled vehicular unit, primarily designed as a
33 temporary dwelling for travel, recreational, and vacation use.
34 (4) (a) "Motor vehicle" includes:
35 (i) a motor home, as defined in this section, but only the self-propelled vehicle and
36 chassis sold in this state; [and]
37 (ii) a motor vehicle, as defined in Section 41-1a-102 , sold in this state[.]; and
38 (iii) a motorcycle, as defined in Section 41-1a-102, sold in this state.
39 (b) "Motor vehicle" does not include:
40 (i) those portions of a motor home designated, used, or maintained primarily as a
41 mobile dwelling, office, or commercial space;
42 (ii) farm tractor, [motorcycle,] road tractor, or truck tractor as defined in Section
43 41-1a-102 ;
44 (iii) mobile home as defined in Section 41-1a-102 ; or
45 (iv) any motor vehicle with a gross laden weight of over 12,000 pounds, except a
46 motor home as defined under Subsection (3).
