Rep. Bowman called the meeting to order at 2:16 p.m.

H.B. 39    Special Functions Officers for the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (Rep. J. M. Philpot)

Rep. Philpot explained the bill, assisted by Kelly Atkinson, Fraternal Order of Police.

Rep. Goodfellow explained the bill, assisted by Ron Gordon, Director, Utah Sentencing Commission.

MOTION:    Rep. Harper moved to pass the bill as amended out favorably. The motion passed         unanimously.

H.B. 193    Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice (Rep. M. S. Lawrence)

Rep. Lawrence explained the bill, assisted by Ed McConkie, Executive Director, Commission of Criminal and Juvenile Justice.

MOTION:    Rep. Litvak moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.     Page 2, line 55:        Delete "and"

2.    Page 2, line 56:        Delete "." and insert "; and"

3.     Page 2, after line 56:        Insert (v) legislative members must be of different political
                    parties.


The motion to amend failed, with Rep. Bourdeaux, Rep. Jones, and Rep. Litvak voting in favor.

MOTION:    Rep. Christensen moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed         unanimously.

H.B. 63    Identification of Stolen Firearms (Rep. J. Buffmire)

    This bill was not considered in this meeting.

MOTION:    Rep. Bourdeaux moved to adjourn the meeting at 2:16 p.m. The motion passed         unanimously.
