Rep. Aagard called the meeting to order at 2:15 p.m.
MOTION: Rep. Litvak moved to approve the minutes of the January 20, 2004 meeting. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Dee, Rep. Jones, and Rep. Morley absent for the vote.
H.B. 73 Pattern of Unlawful Activity Act Amendments (Rep. T. McCartney)
Rep. McCartney explained the bill assisted by Janese Macanas, Assistant Attorney General, and Paul Boyden, Statewide Association of Prosecutors.
MOTION: Rep. Litvak moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Morley absent for the vote.
H.B. 180 Death Penalty Provisions (Rep. S. Allen)
Rep. Allen explained the bill, assisted by Ron Gordon, Director, Utah Sentencing Commission.
Spoke for the bill: Edward L. Rhodes, Chief of Police, Heber City Police Department
MOTION: Rep. Bourdeaux moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Rep. Dee moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
