Chair Buttars called the meeting to order at 8:07 a.m.
H.B. 349 Department of Agriculture and Food Audit Requirements (Rep. C. Buttars)
MOTION: Rep. Buttars moved to adopt the following amendments to the bill:
1. Page 1, Line 15: After "auditor;" delete "and" and insert:
". amends provision relating to the auditing of the Utah Dairy Commission's accounts so that the accountant performing the audit is selected by the commission rather than the commissioner; and"
2. Page 3, Line 65: After "accountant" reinstate "selected by the" and after "[
The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Biskupski, Rep. Johnson, and Rep. Ure absent for the vote.
Rep Buttars introduced the bill with the assistance of Kyle Stephens, Dept. of Agriculture and Food, and Brent Tanner, Utah Cattlemen Association and Utah Beef Council.
MOTION: Rep. Peterson moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Biskupski and Rep. Ure absent for the vote.
MOTION: Rep. Dayton moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Biskupski and Rep. Ure absent for the vote.
H.B. 146 County Cooperative Agreements with State for Fire Protection (Rep. C. Buttars)
Rep. Buttars introduced the bill with the assistance of Dick Buehler, Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands. They responded to questions from the committee.
MOTION: Rep. Gowans moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
H.C.R. 13 Western Legends Roundup Resolution (Rep. M. Noel)
MOTION: Rep. Noel moved to amend the bill as follows:
Page 1, Line 24: After "Greatest" delete "Show on Earth" and insert "Earth on Show"
The motion passed unanimously.
