Chair Murray called the meeting to order at 4:53 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Bush moved to approve the minutes of February 19, 2004 and February 23, 2004. The motion passed unanimously with Reps. Kiser, Alexander, Lockhart and Dougall absent for the vote.

HB0335    Penalty for Using Fake Identification (Rep. B. Goodfellow)

    Rep. Goodfellow explained the bill to the committee.

Rep. Murray turned the chair over to Rep. Kiser.

Jim Olsen, Utah Retail Association and Dan Fallows, Utah Public Safety spoke in favor of the bill.

Rep. Kiser turned the chair over to Rep. Murray.

MOTION:    Rep. Frank moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Kiser, Alexander, and Lockhart absent for the vote.



MOTION:    Rep. Bird moved to put the bill on the consent calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Reps. Lockhart, and Alexander absent for the vote.

HB0089S01    Special Group License Plate Amendments (Rep. M. Morley)

    Rep. Morley explained the bill to the committee. Rep. Biskupski and Robert Bergman, Utah Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake spoke in opposition to the bill. Rod Marrelli, Utah State Tax Commission spoke in favor of the bill.

MOTION:    Rep. McCartney moved to adjourn. The motion passed with Reps. Dougall, Frank, Alexander, and Lockhart voting in opposition. The meeting adjourned at 6:21 p.m.
