Committee Chair Walker called the meeting to order at 9:08 a.m.
1. Approval of Minutes
MOTION: Sen. Arent moved to approve the minutes of January 30, 2004.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Evans absent at the time of voting.
2. S.B. 65 County Classification Amendments (L. Blackham)
Sen. Leonard Blackham introduced the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Hale moved to pass S.B. 65 out with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. B. Evans absent at the time of voting.
Sen. Eastman assumed the chair from Sen. Walker.
3. S.B. 145 County Surveyor Amendments (C. Walker)
Sen. Walker introduced the bill, assisted by Reed Demman, Utah Association of County Surveyors.
MOTION: Sen Arent moved to pass S.B. 145 out with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. B. Evans absent at the time of voting.
Sen. Walker assumed the chair from Sen. Eastman.
4. S.J.R. 6 Resolution on Impeachment Authority (J. Valentine)
Sen. John Valentine introduced the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Arent moved to pass S.J.R. 6 out with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. B. Evans absent at the time of voting.
5. S.B. 142 Validity of Marriage Licenses (G. Davis)
Sen. Gene Davis introduced the bill, assisted by Sherrie Swensen, Salt Lake County Clerk.
MOTION: Sen. Eastman moved to pass S.B.142 out with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously.
