    Sen. J. Evans called the meeting to order at 8:20 a.m.

    
1.    S.B. 29 ACCESS TO RURAL HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS (Sen. L. Blackham)

     MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to adopt the following amendments:     

1.    Page 1, Lines 19 through 20 :    

             19          .    amends the definition of independent hospital to include a critical

    The motion passed with Sen. Kundson and Sen. Julander absent at the time of the     vote.

    Sen. Blackham presented the bill to the committee.

    Kelly Atkinson, Utah Health Insurance Association, and David Gessal, Utah Hospitals and Health Systems, spoke to the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Blackham moved to hold the bill.

    The motion passed with Sen. Knudson and Sen. Julander absent at the time of the vote.

2.    S.B. 70 HEALTH CARE FACILITY LICENSING EXEMPTION (By Sen. J.     Hickman)

    
Sen. Blackham presented the bill to the committee.

    
Dr. Scott Williams, Utah Department of Health spoke to the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to pass S. B. 70 out of committee with a favorable     recommendation.

    The motion passed with Sen. Knudson and Sen. Julander absent at the time of the vote.

     MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed with all present voting in favor.

    Chair J. Evans adjourned the meeting at 9:15 a.m.
