Committee Chair Killpack called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.

1.    S.B. 11 Guidelines for Local Matching Dollars for Transportation Projects

     Sen. Walker proposed the following amendments:

    MOTION: Sen. Walker moved to adopt the amendments.

    The motion passed unanimously, with Sens. Hickman and Stephenson absent for the vote.

    Glen Brown, Chairman, Transportation Commission, and Craig Peterson, Mountainland Association of Governments, spoke in support of the bill.

    Lincoln Shurtz, Utah League of Cities and Towns, and John Nord, Executive Director, UDOT, spoke to the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Eastman moved to pass the bill out, favorably, as amended.

    The motion passed unanimously.

2.    S.B. 74 Aerospace and Aviation Development Zone Amendments (M. Dmitrich)

    
Sen. Dmitrich presented the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Walker moved to hold the bill until the next meeting.

    The motion passed unanimously.

3.    S.B. 77 Expansion of New Motor Vehicle Warranaties (P. Arent)

    
Sen. Arent proposed the following amendments:

    1.    Page 1, Lines 12 through 14 :

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Sen. Arent explained the bill and answered questions.

     MOTION: Sen. Walker moved to pass the bill out, favorably, as amended.

    The motion passed unanimously.

4.    S.B. 87 Driver License Certificate Amendments (C. Walker)

    
Sen. Walker explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Hickman moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously.

5.    S.B. 93 Telecommunications Annual Report Amendments (B. Evans)

    
Sen. Evans presented the bill.

    Dee Jay Hammon, Chairman, Committee of Consumer Services, and Roger Ball, Exec.     Director, Committee of Consumer Services, spoke in opposition to the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to hold the bill until the next meeting.



    The motion passed unanimously.


    MOTION: Sen. Stephenson moved to reconsider S.B. 74 Aerospace and Aviation     Development Zone Amendments (M. Dmitrich)

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Jim Wilson, Associate General Counsel, answered questions from the committee.

     MOTION: Sen. Hale moved to hold the bill until the next meeting.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Walker moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed unanimously.
