             7      LONG TITLE
             8      General Description:
             9          This bill appropriates $152,000 from the General Fund in fiscal year 2004-2005 to the
             10      Department of Natural Resources for security at Range Creek and reduces the
             11      appropriation to the University of Utah Museum of Natural History for Range Creek.
             12      Highlighted Provisions:
             13          This bill:
             14          .    redirects $50,000 in General Fund on-going monies appropriated to the University
             15      of Utah for Range Creek to the Department of Natural Resources for security at
             16      Range Creek; and
             17          .    appropriates $102,000 in one-time monies from the General Fund surplus to the
             18      Department of Natural Resources for security at Range Creek.
             19      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
             20          In fiscal year 2004-2005, $152,000 is appropriated from the General Fund to the
             21      Department of Natural Resources for security at Range Creek.
             22      Other Special Clauses:
             23          This bill provides an immediate effective date.

             30      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             31          Section 1. General provisions.
             32          Under the terms and conditions of Section 63-38-3, the following sums of money
             33      are appropriated from the funds or fund accounts indicated for the use and support of the
             34      government of the State of Utah for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2004 and ending June 30,
             35      2005.
             36          Section 2. Item 133, Chapter 256, Laws of Utah 2004 is amended to read:
             37          Item 133    To University of Utah - Public Service
             38                  From General Fund            [1,328,700] 1,278,700
             39                  From General Fund, One-time        9,600
             40                  Schedule of Programs:
             41                   Seismograph Stations        403,200
             42                   Museum of Natural History    [822,500] 772,500
             43                   State Arboretum            112,600
             44          It is the intent of the Legislature that the Museum of Natural History use the
             45      appropriated funds to survey and catalogue the Range Creek site, and to identify, record, and
             46      preserve sites and artifacts at the Range Creek site.
             47          Section 3. Item 183a is enacted to read:
             48          Item 183a    To Department of Natural Resources - Range Creek
             49                  From General Fund                50,000
             50                  From General Fund, One-time        102,000
             51                  Schedule of Programs:
             52                   Range Creek Security            152,000
             53          It is the intent of the Legislature that the Department of Natural Resources use the
             54      appropriated funds to secure the Range Creek site to prevent trespass, theft, and vandalism.
             55          Section 4. Effective date.
             56          If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this bill takes effect


             57      upon approval by the governor, or the day following the constitutional time limit of Utah
             58      Constitution Article VII, Section 8, without the governor's signature, or in the case of a veto,
             59      the date of veto override.
