             8      General Description:
             9          This bill requires the state court administrator, subject to legislative appropriation, to
             10      provide grants to nonprofit legal assistance providers.
             11      Highlighted Provisions:
             12          This bill:
             13          .    directs the state court administrator to provide grants to nonprofit legal assistance
             14      providers for:
             15              .    low to moderate income victims of domestic violence; and
             16              .    low to moderate income individuals in family law matters;
             17          .    specifies that the grants are subject to legislative appropriation for that purpose; and
             18          .    requires the state court administrator to issue a request for proposal for the grant.

             27      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:



             28          Section 1. Section 78-3-24.1 is enacted to read:
             29          78-3-24.1. Grants to nonprofit legal assistance organization.
             30          Subject to legislative appropriation, the state court administrator shall, in accordance
             31      with Title 63, Chapter 56, Utah Procurement Code, solicit requests for proposals and award
             32      grants to nonprofit legal assistance providers to provide legal assistance throughout the state to:
             33          (1) low to moderate income victims of domestic violence; and
             34          (2) low to moderate income individuals in family law matters.
