7 LONG TITLE
8 General Description:
9 This bill modifies the Motor Vehicles Code by amending provisions related to motor
10 vehicle registration and titling.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 . provides that the signature of an owner, rather than each owner, is required for a
14 vehicle to be registered; and
15 . makes technical changes.

25 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
26 Section 1. Section 41-1a-209 is amended to read:
27 41-1a-209. Application for registration -- Contents.

28 (1) An owner of a vehicle subject to registration under this part shall apply to the
29 division for registration on forms furnished by the division.
30 (2) The application for registration shall include:
31 (a) the signature of [each] an owner of the vehicle to be registered;
32 (b) the name, bona fide residence and mailing address of the owner, or business
33 address of the owner if the owner is a firm, association, or corporation;
34 (c) a description of the vehicle including the make, model, type of body, the model year
35 as specified by the manufacturer, the number of cylinders, and the identification number of the
36 vehicle; and
37 (d) other information required by the division to enable it to determine whether the
38 owner is lawfully entitled to register the vehicle.
39 Section 2. Section 41-1a-506 is amended to read:
40 41-1a-506. Exceptions to title requirements for manufactured homes or mobile
41 homes.
42 (1) Each manufactured home or mobile home in this state is subject to the titling
43 provisions of this part except:
44 (a) manufactured homes and mobile homes owned and operated by the federal
45 government; and
46 (b) manufactured homes and mobile homes that have been converted to real property
47 [pursuant to Title 59, Chapter 2, Part 6,] under Section 70D-1-20 if:
48 (i) an Affidavit Of Mobile Home Affixture has been issued by the division for that
49 home; and
50 (ii) the home is permanently affixed to real property.
51 (2) A manufactured home or mobile home previously converted to real property but
52 that has been separated from the real property is subject to the titling provisions of this part
53 upon separation.
