Rep. Aagard called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Hendrickson moved to approve the minutes of the February 17, 2005 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Clark, Rep. Hutchings, Rep. Mathis, Rep. Tilton, and Rep. Wheatley absent for the vote.


H.B. 262    Licensure of Athletic Trainers (Rep. P. Ray)


Rep. Ray introduced H.B. 262, assisted by Bill Bean, Athletic Trainer, University of Utah

MOTION:    Rep. Hutchings moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 2, Lines 36 through 37 :

H.B. 373    Education Technology Task Force (Rep. E. Hutchings)

Rep. Hutchings introduced H.B. 373 and explained it to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Buttars moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Hughes absent for the vote.

H.B. 319    Expansion of Department of Administrative Services Oversight to Include Human Resource Management (Rep. D. G. Buxton)

MOTION:    Rep. Hutchings moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 32, Line 968 :    

             968          (2) The director shall assign an employee of the
{   agency   }        division       to act as field office director.


The motion to amend the bill passed unanimously with Rep. Hughes absent for the vote.

Rep. Buxton introduced H.B. 319 as amended and explained it to the committee. He was assisted by Jeff Herring, Department of Human Resource Management, who provided a handout to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Bowman moved to pass the bill as amended out favorably. The motion passed with Rep. Hansen and Rep. Hendrickson voting in opposition to the motion.
H.R. 11    Resolution Urging Congress to Pass Balanced Budget Amendment (Rep. N. Hansen)

Rep. Hansen introduced H.R. 11 and explained it to the committee.




MOTION:    Rep. Hutchings moved to pass the resolution out favorably. The motion passed with Rep. Clark and Rep. Tilton voting in opposition to the motion.

H.B. 379    Young Artist Provisions (Rep. G. Hughes)

MOTION:    Rep. Hughes moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 16, Line 472 :    

             472          (iii) the minor is at least

The motion to amend the bill passed with Rep. Hendrickson voting in opposition to the motion.

This bill was not considered in this meeting.

MOTION:    Rep. Bowman moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
