MOTION:    Rep. Buxton moved to approve the minutes of the February 14, 2005 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Lockhart absent for the vote

H.B. 310    Aging and Adult Services Program Amendments (Rep. E. Hutchings)

MOTION:    Rep. Ray moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 2, Lines 33 through 34 :    

             33          (c)
  administer,       coordinate        ,       and monitor home and community based in-home care and other

             34      alternatives for the aging and adult population of the state; and

2.    Page 2, Lines 52 through 55 :    

             52          (ii) designate an area agency on high risk adults within each planning and service area
             53      in accordance with Subsection (3)(b) to design and implement a comprehensive and
             54      coordinated system of case management and programs for high risk adults
{   , including home and

             55      community based in-home care programs,   } within appropriations from the Legislature.

3.    Page 5, Lines 121 through 123 :    

             121          (b) design and implement a comprehensive and coordinated system of services


             122      including home and community based in-home care within a designated planning and service
             123      area
  , pursuant to rules promulgated by the division       ;


The motion to amend the bill passed unanimously with Rep. Lockhart absent for the vote.

Rep. Hutchings presented H.B. 310 as amended to the committee.

Rep. Last declared a conflict of interest.

MOTION:    Rep. Ray moved to pass the bill as amended out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Lockhart absent for the vote.

H.B. 303    Shelter Hearing Amendments (Rep. E. Hutchings)

Rep. Hutchings presented H.B. 303 to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Ray moved to pass H.B. 303 out favorably. The motion passed with Rep. Litvack voting in opposition to the motion.

S.B. 72    Child Welfare Amendments (Sen. D. Eastman)

Sen. Eastman presented S.B. 72 to the committee, assisted by Adam Trupp, Division of Child and Family Services.

Spoke in favor of the bill:    Margaret Thompson, Eagle Forum

MOTION:    Rep. Mascaro moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Ray moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
