Rep. Barrus called the meeting to order at 2:03 p.m.

Rep. Barrus called for an introduction of the committee members.

H.B. 177    Wildlife License Refund Amendments (Rep. M. Dayton)

Rep. Dayton explained the bill with the assistance of Miles Moretti, Director, Division of Wildlife Resources.

Spoke for the bill:    Gregory Sheehan, Division of Wildlife Resources

MOTION:    Rep. Gowans moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.




H.B. 181    Duplicate Wildlife Licensing Amendments (Rep. M. Dayton)

Rep. Dayton explained the bill with the assistance of Miles Moretti, Director, Utah Wildlife Resources.

Rep. Dayton moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 1, Line 26 through Page 2, Line 31 :    

             26          [Whenever any] If an unexpired license, permit, tag, or certificate of registration issued
             27      under the provisions of this code is destroyed, lost, or stolen, the Division of Wildlife
             28      Resources
  and its authorized license agents       may      {   set fees and   } issue a duplicate license [at a fee to be determined by the Wildlife

             29      Board. To obtain the duplicate license], permit, tag, or certificate of registration[, the applicant
             30      must complete an affidavit testifying to such loss, destruction or theft, and provide such other
             31      information as required] in accordance with
  the       rules set        and fees determined       by the Wildlife Board.


The motion to amend passed unanimously.

Rep. Buttars moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B. 182    Historical Livestock Trails (Rep. B. Johnson)

MOTION:    Rep. Johnson moved to delete in title and body H.B. 182 and replace it with
         1st substitute H.B. 182. The motion passed unanimously.

Rep. Johnson explained the bill.

Rep. Ure declared a conflict of interest.

Spoke to the bill:     Chris Parker, Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel

MOTION:    Rep. Buttars moved to proceed to the next item on the agenda. The motion passed unanimously.



H.C.R. 7    Concurrent Resolution Opposing Nuclear Testing (Rep. M. Noel)

Rep. Noel explained the resolution with the assistance of Mike Lee, Governor's General Counsel.

Spoke for the resolution:         Debbie Goodman, Utah Audubon Council

MOTION:    Rep. Buttars moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Cox moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
