Vice Chair Noel called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Ure moved to approve the minutes of February 15, 2005. The motion         passed unanimously with, Rep. Biskupski, Rep. Buttars, Rep. Duckworth,          Rep. Gowans, Rep. Mathis, Rep. Painter and Rep. Walker absent for the vote.

H.B. 308    Archeological Resources Amendments (B. Johnson)

Rep. Johnson explained the bill.

MOTION:    Rep. Johnson moved to delete in title and body H.B.308 and replace it with 1st         Sub. H.B. 308. The motion passed unanimously with, Rep. Duckworth,
         Rep. Gowans, and Rep. Mathis absent for the vote.
        



Spoke against the bill:    Cathryn Collis, SWCA Environmental
            Matthew Seddon, SWCA Environmental
            Philip Notarianni, Director of the Division of State History
            Wilson Martin, State Historic Preservation Officer

Spoke for the bill:    Roy Macpherson, Utah Statewide Archeological Society
            Miles Morretti, Division of Wildlife Resources

Spoke to the bill:    Daryl Thomas, Archeologist

MOTION:    Rep. Johnson moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed with         Rep. Biskupski, Rep. Duckworth, and Rep. Wheatley voting in opposition.

MOTION:    Rep Ure moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.

Vice Chair Noel adjourned the meeting at 9:55 a.m.
