Rep. Dee called the meeting to order at 3:12 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Holdaway moved to approve the minutes of January 28, 2005. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Becker, Rep. Fisher, Rep. Gibson, and Rep. Shurtliff absent for the vote.

S.B. 97    Consolidation of City and County Library (Sen. G. Bell)

Sen. Bell introduced the bill and explained it to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Shurtliff moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Becker and Rep. Gibson absent for the vote.

S.B. 81    Local Government Approval for Solid Nonhazardous and Hazardous Waste Disposal (Sen. B. Evans)

Sen. Evans introduced the bill and explained it to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Hardy moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Becker absent for the vote.

Rep. Dee relinquished the Chair to the Vice Chair, Rep. Lawrence.




S.J.R. 3    Resolution Encouraging Mediation (Sen. C. Walker)

Rep. Hardy introduced the bill and explained it to the committee for Sen. Walker.

MOTION:    Rep. Fisher moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Becker and Rep. Dee absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Fisher moved that SJR 3 be placed on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Becker and Rep. Dee absent for the vote.

S.B. 88    Creation of Local Districts (Sen. C. Walker)

Rep. Holdaway introduced the bill for Sen. Walker, with the assistance of Jan Furner, Executive Director of Utah Association of Special Districts.

MOTION:    Rep. Gibson moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Dee and Rep. Fisher absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Holdaway moved that SB 88 be placed on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Dee and Rep. Fisher absent for the vote.

MOTION:     Rep. Buxton moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously and the Vice Chair adjourned the meeting at 3:41 p.m.
