Rep. Harper called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Subcommittee members and staff were introduced.

Assistant Director, Bryant Howe, reviewed the handout "Overview of Utah's State and Local Tax System".

H.B. 53    Tax Treatment of Personal Property (Rep. L. Shurtliff)

    Rep. Shurtliff introduced the bill and explained its intent with the assistance of Wayne Jones, Executive Director, RV Dealers Association of Utah. A handout was distributed to the Subcommittee. Thomas Vaughn, Associate General Counsel, Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel, Lynn Solarczyk, Utah State Tax Commission, and Arie Van De Graaff, Utah Association of Counties, spoke to the bill. Keith Burnham, Family Motor Coach Association and Good Sam Club, spoke for the bill.





MOTION:
    Rep. McGee moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously         with Rep. Hunsaker and Rep. Lockhart absent for the vote.

H.B. 170    Extension of Utah Low-income Housing Tax Credits (Rep. S. Clark)

    Rep. Snow commented on the bill and noted a conflict of interest.

MOTION:    Rep. Snow moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously              with Rep. Hunsaker and Rep. Lockhart absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep Allen moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Hunsaker         and Rep. Lockhart absent for the vote.

The Chair adjourned the meeting at 9:28 a.m.
