Sen. Killpack assumed the Chair and called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.
MOTION: Sen. Hickman moved to approve the minutes of February 15, 2005.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hatch absent for the vote.
1. S.B. 168 Construction Trade Amendments (S. Jenkins)
MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to adopt 1st Sub. S.B. 168.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hatch absent for the vote.
Sen. Jenkins explained the bill assisted by Dana Farmer, Chairman, Utah Construction Suppliers Association.
Darrel Bostwick, Attorney, Bostwick and Price, spoke to the bill.
Debie Wangsgard, Credit Manager, BMC West, spoke in support of the bill.
Representative Mike Morely and Taz Biesinger, Utah Home Builders Association spoke in opposition to the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to pass the bill out favorably.
The motion passed with Sen. Jenkins, Sen. Hatch, Sen. Hickman and Sen. Killpack voting in favor of the bill and Sen. Waddoups and Sen. Mayne voting in opposition.
Sen. Jenkins resumed the Chair.
