Acting Committee Chair Buttars called the meeting to order at 2:16 p.m.

1. S.B. 120 Allocation of Profits from School and Institutional Trust Lands (Sen. T. Hatch)

The bill was presented by Sen. Thomas V. Hatch with requested amendments.

MOTION: Sen. Arent proposed the following amendments to S.B. 120:

1. Page 2, Line 29: Utah Enabling Act, Section 12, Utah Constitution Article X, Section 7, Utah Constitution Article XX,

The motion passed unanimously. Absent for the vote were: Sen. D. Eastman, Sen. M. Madsen and Sen. D. Thomas.

Sen. Hatch distributed a map entitled "Utah Trust Lands and Normal School Interests."

MOTION: Sen. Stephenson moved to pass S.B. 120 Allocation of Profits from School and Institutional Trust Lands (Sen. T. Hatch) out with a favorable recommendations as amended.


The motion passed unanimously. Absent for the vote were: Sen. D. Eastman, Sen. M. Madsen and Sen. D. Thomas.

2. S.C.R. 4 Resolution Approving Utah Recreation Land Exchange (Sen. B. Evans)

Sen. Beverly Ann Evans presented the bill and distributed a map entitled "Proposal - Utah Recreational Land Exchange Offered and Selected Lands, December 15, 2004."

MOTION: Sen. Arent moved to pass S.C.R. 4 Resolution Approving Utah Recreation Land Exchange (Sen. B. Evans) out with a favorable recommendation.

The motion passed unanimously. Absent for the vote were: Sen. D. Eastman and Sen. D. Thomas.

3. S.B. 122    Nonresident Tuition Waiver for Job Corps Students (Sen. G. Bell)

Sen. Gregory S. Bell distributed 1st Sub. S.B. 122 Nonresident Tuition Waiver for Job Corps Students and asked it be adopted.

MOTION: Sen. Arent moved to delete S.B. 122    Nonresident Tuition Waiver for Job
Corps Students (Sen. G. Bell) and replace it with 1st Sub.S.B. 122 Nonresident Tuition
Waiver for Job Corps Students (Sen. G. Bell).

The motion passed unanimously. Absent for the vote were: Sen. D. Thomas and Sen. D. Eastman.

MOTION: Sen. Hale moved to pass 1st Sub. S.B. 122 Nonresident Tuition Waiver for Job Corps Students (Sen. G. Bell) out with a favorable recommendation.

The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION: Sen. Madsen moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
