Committee Chair Hellewell called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.

     MOTION: Sen. Hickman moved to approve the minutes of the February 3, 2005 meeting.

        The motion passed with Sen. Davis absent for the vote.

1.        S.B. 152 Business License Fees (M. Waddoups)

        Sen. Waddoups explained the bill.

        The following spoke in support of the bill:

            Chris Kyler, Utah Assn. of Realtors

     MOTION: Sen. Hickman moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis absent for the vote.

2.    H.B. 75 Government Records Access and Management Task Force (D. Aagard)

    Rep. Aagard explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Hale moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

3.    H.B. 165 Utah Commission on Aging
(P. Jones)

        Rep. Jones explained the bill.

        The following spoke in support of the bill:

        Ron Stromberg, Acting Director, Department of Human Services
        Laura Polacheck, Assoc. State Director, AARP Utah
        Allen Ormsby, Acting Director, Aging Services

     MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed with Sen. Hickman voting in opposition.

4.    H.B. 40S01 Sunset of Township Provision (M.S. Lawrence)

    Rep. Lawrence explained the bill.

    The following spoke in support of the bill:

        Kara Trevino, Salt Lake County




     MOTION: Sen. Hale moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The bill passed unanimously with Sen. Davis absent for the vote.

     MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Committee Chair Hellewell adjourned the meeting at 9:20 a.m.
