Committee Chair Christensen called the meeting to order at 8:06 a.m.

MOTION: Sen. McCoy moved to approve the minutes of February 15, 2005.

The motion passed unanimously.

1.    S.B. 201 Center for Multicultural Health (D. C. Buttars)

    Sen. Buttars explained the bill.

    The following spoke in support of the bill:




    Luz Robles, Multicultural Policy Analyst, Utah Issues
    Pamela Atkinson, Advocate
    
     MOTION: Sen. Allen moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

2.    S.J.R. 16 Resolution Urging Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan for the State

    Sen. Hale explained the bill

    The following spoke in support of the bill:

     MOTION: Sen. McCoy moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

3.    S.B. 111 Amendments Prohibiting Health Insurance Discrimination (S. McCoy)

    Sen. McCoy explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Allen moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion failed with Sen. Allen and Sen. McCoy voting in favor.



4.     H.B. 42S01 Medical Recommendations for Children (M. Morley)

    At the request of the sponsor the bill was not considered.

5.    H.B. 4 Divorce Mediation Program (B. Ferry)

    Sen. Bell and Rep. Ferry explained the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. McCoy moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Bell moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed unanimously.

Sen. Christensen adjourned the meeting at 9:26 a.m.
