Committee Chair Waddoups called the meeting to order at 9:11 a.m.
Committee members and staff were introduced. Visitors were also invited to introduce themselves.
1. S.B. 79 Extension of Sunset Date on Resource Development Coordinating Committee (Sen. B. Evans)
Sen. Beverly Evans introduced the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Julander moved to pass S.B. 79 out favorably.
John Harja, Department of Natural Resources, answered questions from committee members and spoke in support of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Evans moved to adopt the following amendment to S.B. 79:
1. Page 1, Lines 13 through 15

The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Evans moved to pass S.B. 79, Extension of Sunset Date on Resource Development Coordinating Committee (Sen. B. Evans), out favorably as amended.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hatch absent for the vote.
2. S.B. 81 Local Government Approval for Solid Nonhazardous and Hazardous Waste Disposal (Sen. B. Evans)
Sen. Beverly Evans presented the bill.
Tom Bingham, President, Utah Manufacturers Association, spoke to the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Evans moved to pass. S.B. 81, Local Government Approval for Solid Nonhazardous and Hazardous Waste Disposal (Sen. B. Evans), out favorably.
The motion passed unanimously.
3. S.B. 99 Damages for Trespass in State Parks (Sen. T. Hatch)
Sen. Thomas Hatch presented the bill.
Steve Roberts, Deputy Director, Division of Parks and Recreation; Rep. Sheryl Allen; and Heather Shelton, Assistant Attorney General, spoke in opposition to the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Hatch moved to pass S.B. 99, Damages for Trespass in State Parks (Sen. T. Hatch), out with a favorable recommendation.
The motion failed with Sen. Peterson and Sen. Hatch voting in favor, and Sen. Waddoups, Sen. Evans, Sen. Julander and Sen. Fife voting in opposition.
MOTION: Sen. Hatch moved to adjourn.
The motion passed unanimously.
