Committee Chair Waddoups called the meeting to order at 8:37 a.m.
1. Approval of Minutes
MOTION: Sen. Peterson moved to approve the minutes of February 17, 2005.
The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hatch and Sen. McCoy absent at the time of voting.
2. H.B. 230 Recycling of Waste Tires (Rep. D. Ure)
Rep. David Ure introduced the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Hatch moved to pass H.B. 230, Recycling of Waste Tires (Rep. D. Ure), out favorably.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Hatch moved to place H.B. 230 on the Consent Calendar.
The motion failed with Sen. Waddoups, Sen. Hatch and Sen. Peterson voting in support and Sen. Fife and Sen. McCoy voting in opposition.
3. 1st Sub. H.B. 83 Weights and Measures Amendments (Rep. D. Ure)
Rep. Ure introduced the bill. Kyle Stephens, Deputy Commissioner, Dept. of Agriculture and Food, assisted in the presentation.
Jim Olsen, Utah Food Industry Association, and Gary Thorup, Utah Petroleum Marketers and Retailers Association, spoke in support of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Peterson moved to pass 1st Sub. H.B. 83, Weights and Measures Amendments (Rep. D. Ure), out favorably.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Peterson moved to place 1st Sub. H.B. 83 on the Consent Calendar.
The motion passed unanimously.
4. H.B. 225 Boat Registration Fee (Rep. B. Goodfellow)
Rep. Brent Goodfellow introduced the bill. Steve Roberts, Deputy Director, State Parks and Recreation, assisted in the presentation.

MOTION: Sen. Fife moved to pass H.B. 225, Boat Registration Fee (Rep. B. Goodfellow), out favorably.
The motion passed unanimously.
5. H.J.R. 13 Resolution Supporting National Bear River Heritage Area Act (Rep. C. Buttars)
The bill was not heard.
MOTION: Sen. Peterson moved to adjourn.
The motion passed unanimously.
