Chair Walker called the meeting to order at 8:12 a.m.

Senators and staff members were introduced.

1.    S.B. 7    Funding for Tourism (Sen. S. Jenkins)

    
Sen. Jenkins presented the bill and proposed two amendments.

     MOTION: Sen. Fife moved to accept the following amendment to S.B. 7:

    Page 5, Line 126:            Delete "policy"

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.


     MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to accept the following amendment to S.B. 7:

    Page 11, Line 325:        Delete "2004-05" and insert "2005-06"

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Mr. David Harmer clarified the bill and spoke in favor of the bill.

    Ms. Victoria Panella Bourns, Legislative Coordinator, Utah Cultural Alliance, spoke in     favor of the bill and distributed a handout.

     MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to pass S.B. 7, as amended, out of committee with a     favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed with Sen. Madsen voting against the bill.

2.    S.B. 16    Department of Workforce Services - Access to Financial Records (Sen. S. Jenkins)

    Sen. Jenkins presented the bill.

    Director Michael Sullivan, Communications, Customer & Legislative Relations, clarified     the bill.

    Director Christopher Love, Unemployment Insurance, responded to questions from     committee members.

     MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to pass S.B. 16 out of committee with a favorable     recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

3.    S.B. 35     Venture Capital Funding Amendments (Sen. D. Thomas)

    Sen. Thomas presented the bill and distributed an Information Paper regarding the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Fife moved to pass S.B. 35 out of committee with a favorable     recommendation.     

    The motion passed unanimously.



4.    S.B. 95    Office of Museum Services Amendments (Sen. R. Allen)
    
    
Sen. Allen presented the bill.

     MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to pass S.B. 95 out of committee with a favorable     recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

     MOTION: Sen. Fife moved to adjourn.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Chair Walker adjourned the meeting at 8:56 a.m.
