Chair Walker called the meeting to order at 8:03 a.m.
1. S.B. 57 Use of State Sales and Use Tax Revenues for Business Development in Disadvantaged Rural Communities (Sen. P. Knudson)
Sen. Knudson presented the bill and responded to questions from Committee members.
Ms. Susan Thackeray, Director of Economic Development, Box Elder County, clarified the bill and responded to questions from Committee members.
Mr. David Spatafore, Utah League of Cities and Towns, clarified the bill.
Mr. Brent Gardner, Utah Association of Counties, stated that this Association had not taken a position on the bill at the present time.
Analyst Art Hunsaker responded to questions from Committee members.
Sen. Madsen assumed the Chair.
MOTION: Sen. Evans moved to pass the bill out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Eastman and Walker absent for the vote.
MOTION: Sen. Evans moved to approve the minutes of January 24, 2005.
The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Eastman and Walker absent for the vote.
MOTION: Sen. Fife moved to adjourn.
Sen. Madsen adjourned the meeting at 8:50 a.m.
