9 General Description:
10 This bill modifies the State Affairs in General Code to enact the Executive and
11 Legislative Coordination Act.
12 Highlighted Provisions:
13 This bill:
14 . requires a state agency to notify each legislator of any agency-related event that
15 directly impacts the citizens within the legislator's district or that takes place within
16 the legislator's district.

26 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
27 Section 1. Section 63-93a-101 is enacted to read:

29 63-93a-101. Title.
30 This chapter is known as the "Executive and Legislative Coordination Act."
31 Section 2. Section 63-93a-102 is enacted to read:
32 63-93a-102. Definitions -- State agencies notification of legislators.
33 (1) As used in this chapter:
34 (a) "State agency" means each department, commission, board, council, agency,
35 institution, officer, corporation, fund, division, office, committee, authority, laboratory, library,
36 unit, bureau, panel, or other administrative unit of the state.
37 (b) "State agency" does not mean:
38 (i) each school district;
39 (ii) a legislative branch agency;
40 (iii) an independent agency;
41 (iv) a county, municipality, school district, or special district; or
42 (v) any administrative subdivision of a county, municipality, school district, or special
43 district.
44 (2) A state agency shall H. directly .H notify each legislator of any agency-related
44a event that:
45 (a) directly H. [
45a the community or the community as a whole .H within the legislator's district; or
46 (b) takes place within the legislator's district.
