             8      LONG TITLE
             9      General Description:
             10          This joint resolution of the Legislature fixes the compensation for legislative in-session
             11      employees for 2006.
             12      Highlighted Provisions:
             13          This resolution:
             14          .    fixes the compensation for legislative in-session employees for 2006.
             15      Special Clauses:
             16          This resolution provides retrospective operation to January 9, 2006.
             17     
             18      Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             19          WHEREAS, the Legislature acting under the authority of Section 36-2-2, Utah Code
             20      Annotated 1953, is required to fix the compensation of its in-session employees by joint
             21      resolution:
             22          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislature of the state of Utah that
             23      the compensation of legislative in-session employees for actual hours worked be fixed as
             24      follows:
             25          Employees working for the Legislature for the first time shall be paid under the "Step 1"
             26      scale.
             27          Except as otherwise provided, employees working two or more sessions for the


             28      Legislature may be paid a one step increase from the 2005 Session, up to a "Step 5" scale.
             29      Employees working ten or more sessions for the Legislature may be paid under the "Step 6"
             30      scale. Employees working 15 or more sessions for the Legislature may be paid under the "Step
             31      7" scale. Employees working 20 or more sessions for the Legislature may be paid under the
             32      "Step 8" scale.
             33          Senate employees are designated with an "S." House of Representative employees are
             34      designated with an "H."
