Vice Chair Dunnigan called the meeting to order at 8:07 a.m.
MOTION: Rep. Adams moved to approve the minutes of the February 2, 2006 meeting. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. Biskupski, Rep. D. Clark, Rep. Kiser, Rep. Morley and Rep. Wyatt absent for the vote.
S.B. 66 Price Controls During Emergencies Amendments (Sen. P. Arent)
Sen. Arent explained the bill to the committee, with the assistance of Thad LeVar, Director, Divison of Consumer Protection and Jim Olsen, Utah Retail Merchants Association.
MOTION: Rep. Hansen moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. D. Clark and Rep. Wyatt absent for the vote.
H.B. 138 Mercury Switch Removal Act (Rep. R. Menlove)
Rep. Menlove explained the bill and the substitute bill to the committee, with the assistance of Bill Sinclair, Deputy Director, Department of Environmental Quality. (handout)
MOTION: Rep. Snow moved to delete in title and body H.B. 138 and replace it with 1st Substitute H.B. 138. The motion passed unanimously, with Rep. D. Clark, Rep. Morley and Rep. Wyatt absent for the vote.
